Marie Callender started her home-based bakery in the late 1940s.
Tustin Street location opened by Marie's son Don in 1964 was the first pie and coffee shop.
Business sold in 1986 to Ramada Inc. for about $76 million.
In 2006, Marie Callender’s merged with Perkins Family Restaurants; corporate entity is now named Perkins & Marie Callender's.
Marie Callender's now operates over 60 restaurants and 1 East Side Mario's restaurant in the United States and Mexico.
