  • Construction began in fall of 2014 on the redevelopment of the former L. Mendel Rivers Federal Building. In 1964 President Lyndon Johnson had commissioned the construction of this federal office structure. (See "And Now You Know", below)

Abandoned shortly thereafter, the historical structure faced an uncertain future. Thankfully, an Atlanta-based real estate developer named John Dewberry saved the building nine years later. ...
