• The original Pickle Barrel opened at 5863 Leslie Street in 1971. In 2021 there were 13 corporate-owned Pickle Barrel locations in Ontario.
• In October 2017 the Pickle Barrel outlets were sold to Cara Operations (now Recipe Unlimited Corporation).
• In October 2020 the Atrium location at Yonge and Dundas in Toronto closed permanently due to the impact of COVID-19. This location had been operating since 1981 and was the restaurant's flagship location.
• In February 2024 the original Pickle Barrel on Leslie closed ( Streets of Toronto )
