Chef Michael Howell is the Executive Director of Devour! The Food Film Fest in Wolfville Nova Scotia Canada. He is also principal of Tempestuous Culinary, a culinary consulting and travel company.
Michael trained as a chef at the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. Chef positions have seen him in at the Mobil 5 star Everest Room in Chicago IL, Toronto, Detroit MI, Boston MA and New York, NY before moving to the Bahamas in 1999 to assume the reins as Executive Chef at the Green Turtle Club for three years. During that tenure, Michael elevated the Green Turtle Club to the position of “Best Restaurant in the Bahamas” (Nassau Wine and Food Society).
In 2002 Michael retuned to Canada to open Tempest Restaurant in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, and itquickly became one of the most well known restaurants in Canada. Tempest Was sold in 2012 and Michael assumed the Mantle of Devour The Food Film Fest Executive Director
