  • Named after Boyle's Thirty Acres which was a large wooden bowl built around Montgomery Street and Cornelison Avenue. It held about 80,000 and was constructed for the world heavyweight boxing championship match between Jack Dempsey of the United States and Georges Carpentier of France on July 2, 1921. It was demolished in 1927. See Wikipedia.
