Chef Steve began his culinary career as a short order cook, grill cook, and pizza maker while attending college in Maryland, and became the General Manager of a local family restaurant after graduation. Steve left the culinary world after a couple of years to pursue a career in chemistry (his degree) which morphed into a 30-year career in Corporate IT. During this extended leave, he honed his skills and continued an insatiable thirst for knowledge, working as an ad hoc personal chef and private caterer. Following a recession-based layoff in 2007, he had an epiphany to return to his lifelong passion as a second/restart career. Chef Steve has returned to the professional culinary world and was the Chef de Cuisine at Organigaya Café in N. Plainfield, NJ, specializing on 100% certified organic and natural products and ingredients. He also authors two culinary websites - www.grillingforallreasons.com and www.njorganicchef.com and their associated Facebook and Twitter pages.
