- In 2000, the property was sold and divided into two parts. The horseshoe-shaped main hotel came under the management of Hyatt as the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.
- The newer tower was originally renamed the St. Regis Los Angeles, but was razed for development as The Century condominiums.
