- On December 26, 2011 Chef Golinski was severely burned in a house fire that took the lives of his wife and three children. On April 27, 2012 he was officially released from the burn unit of a Brisbane hospital but faces a long period of rehabilitation. On April 10, 2013 Chef Matt made a lunchtime cooking appearances at the Jan Power Farmers' Market.
